The Hillsboro cross-country team competed at the Sterling Invitational Oct. 5
For the Trojan boys, Caleb Rempel placed 62nd among 87 runners with a 5-kilometer time of 20 minutes, 20 seconds. Tucker Moss placed 82nd in 21:43 and Orin Blecha finished 87th in 26:37.
In the girls’ varsity race, Abby Driggers placed 52nd among 60 runners with a time of 26:19.
In the boys’ JV race, Jason Latham finished 26th among 51 runners in 22:39. In the girls’ race, Millie Sechrist placed 13th out of 27 runners with a time of 27:53.
Caleb Diener won the freshman boys’ race in 18:44 while Tristan Reed was third among 17 runners in 19:06.
Iris Klein won the freshman girls’ race with a time of 23:50. Maddie Suderman was fourth among five runners in 27:46.
“I was very proud of how these runners competed at Sterling,” coach Robert Haude said. “For the second consecutive week we had many runners have personal-best times.”
Coming—The Trojans will run Thursday at the Central Kansas League meet at Pratt.
