Setzkorn-Meyer feted by state organizations for public relations work

Marsha Setzkorn-Meyer, marketing and public relations director for Hillsboro Com?munity Hospital, recently was feted for her work.

Setzkon-Meyer received an Emerald Award and a certificate of merit from the Kansas Association of Health Care Communicators during the Kansas Hospital Association convention Nov. 13-14 at Overland Park.

Emerald Awards are given annually to hospitals and health systems that excel in internal communications, external communications, special events, advertising and other categories.

Setkorn-Meyer received the award in the writing category for ?Breaking the Silence About Dementia,? an article that appeared in the Free Press as well as the Newton and Hutch?inson newspapers.

The certificate of merit came in the Special Events cateogry for the ?Dementia Diagnosis: What Next?? workshop hosted by the hospital in February.

Judges from the Iowa Hospital Association with extensive experience in health care marketing evaluated this year?s 53 entries for planning and research, implementation, cost effectiveness and results.
