Second annual BLOCKfest for kids planned for Nov. 14 and 15

Marion County Parents as Teachers and Marion County Head Start classes are co-hosting three sessions of the second annual BLOCKfest in the basement of the Marion City Building, 203 N. 3rd.

Organizers are asking potential participants to sign up for the session that best meets their family?s schedule: 6-7:30 p.m. Friday Nov. 14; or 9-10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15.

RSVP by calling/texting Lori Soo Hoo at 620-947-4041 or email her at lori.soohoo@usd410.net. Space is limited so respond ASAP.

?We will have several stations of blocks set up?large cardboard brick blocks, large foam blocks, large wooden blocks, small pattern blocks, small column blocks, etc.,? Soo Hoo said. ?You and your family will rotate through the block stations with other families during the first hour of play.

?During the last 30 minutes you will have the opportunity to return to the blocks that your children enjoyed most. It is a great play experience for the whole family, while also reinforcing foundational math and science skills.?
