Hutch Trinity completed their sweep of Marion tonight, defeating the Warriors 52-40 at home.
The Warriors started off strong, replying to the Celtics point for point and hitting free throws. However, the Celtics took advantage of the Warriors’ turnovers. They scored a lay-up off a steal with five minutes left in the period, and a minute later Michael Mesh of the Celtics scored another lay-up off a steal to make their lead 8-4.
With thirty seconds left in the period the Warriors? Jordan Hett drove into the basket and made a lay-up to narrow the Celtics? lead to within one point, 11-10.
In the second period both teams continued to battle, with the lead reversing twice and neither team leading by more than three. Derek Racett tied the game for the Celtics 16-16 with a three-point shot with 2:33 left in the half. A slick pass play gave the Warriors? Colin Eurit the ball and he tied the game with ten seconds left in the half, but a buzzer shot from the Celtics? gave them the lead, 20-18, going into the second half.
The Celtics came out very strong from the locker room, holding back the Warriors? offense and extending their lead to 10 points with 4:37 left in the third period.
A three-pointer from the Warriors? Dillon Richmond pared down a 13 point lead to 10 points, 38-28, with 5:50 left in the game, but another Celtics three-point shot only a couple of minutes later firmly reestablished their lead, 45-29.
Despite a late Warriors? basket with 36 seconds left, the Celtics went on to win the game, 52-40.
The Warriors had two players in the double digits, Hett with 10 points and Richmond leading with 12 points. The Celtics? Racett also made double digits, racking up 25 points for the night.
