Hillsboro has up-and-down week

Phyllis RichertPlaying against a couple of tough opponents, the Hillsboro Volleyball team dropped two games against Cheney and Hesston at their home triangular last week.

They then traveled to the Southeast of Saline Tournament on Saturday where they won two games and lost the other three.

Against Cheney, Hillsboro lost 25-18 and 25-20. The Trojans took Hesston to three sets, but lost, 21-25, 25-17, and 25-14.

At Southeast of Saline, they first got a win against Emporia 25-21 and 25-9. Then they lost to Salina South, 25-20, 29-31, and 25-22. Concordia got the win over Hillsboro, 25-11 and 25-10, but the Trojans got back on top against Southeast of Saline, 17-25, 25-17, and 25-17. Finally, Hillsboro lost to Emporia in the final set, 25-17, 22-25, and 25-23.

Hillsboro gets back in action when they travel to Halstead on September 18 and then again travel to Sunrise Christian on September 25.
