Golfers putt for prizes at Pine Edge Golf Course

GolfersNo one won the Hustler Mower offered as a possible prize at the ninth annual putting contest Saturday, June 22, at Pine Edge Golf Course near Goessel, but the top five putters among the 22 participants were (from left) Chet Roberts, fourth; Ray Brundige Jr., third; Mike Cavanaugh, second; Bryon Lopez, fifth; and champion Joe P. Landers. Hustler Turf Equip?ment sponsored the competition. Following the putting contest, Pine Edge played host to a full house of two-person scramblers. First place went to Ray Brundige Jr. and Ray Brundige Sr., second place to Everett Ryan and Alan Tigard and third place to Greg Schmalzried and Byron Lopez. Goessel Crossroads Credit Union sponsored a meal.
