Cross signs for baseball at Cowley

AustinCrossSigning203Hillsboro High School senior Austin Cross signed a letter of intent Friday to play baseball next year for Cow?ley County Community College in Arkansas City. The 6-foot-6 righthander has been the ace pitcher on the Trojan baseball team the past three seasons. He was named to the Central Kan?sas League second team last spring after posting a 3-4 record with an earned-run average of 2.63. He struck out 65 batters and walked 38 over 37.1 inn?ings. As a hitter, he batted .353 and drove in a team-high 18 runs.
