The Trojans girls lost five seniors to graduation last season but they will be bringing back five returning experienced players this season including seniors Emersyn Funk, Sammie Saunders, Malorie Hein and Reese Hefley and sophomores Savannah Shahan and Zaylee Werth.
“Zaylee Werth was our leading assist and steal player, she was also one of our top rebounders and scorers from last year. If we are able to capitalize on our length and athleticism, we will have a great chance every night. We bring back most of our top rebounders which is great,” said Coach Nathan Hiebert who is entering his 15th year coaching at Hillsboro.
The Trojans get started this season with an away game on Dec. 3 at Sterling.
