The Marion cross country team claimed three medals at Eureka Tuesday.
?Overall, most of our times were slow, and I realize that the high school runners still have work to do before league and regionals coming up; however, today we still received several medals and represented Marion well,??coach Rebecca Hofer said.
McKenzee Remmers led the girls, medalling by placing fourth in 17 minutes, 23.4 seconds. Emily Hague finished 18th (18:55.6) and Meggan Freese 24th (19:27.9).
Logan Waner paced the boys, placing 35th in 22:03.8. Quinton Hett was 42nd (22:45.3) and Taylor Fahey 47th (23:26.2).
In junior varsity girls? action, Shyla Harris placed seventh and medalled (23:51.06), Rune Hagemeister also medalled and placed eighth (23:53.58), Kaylie Waner was 11th (24:38.28), Sam Fugitt 12th (25:05.93), Brittany Hett 13th (26:00.00) and Kaitlyn Goebel 14th (26:38.28).
For the JV boys, Zac Dvorak placed 28th (27:50.15) in his first race this season.
Coming?Marion will compete in the Heart of America league meet at Remington Thursday. The girls? race is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., with the boys at 4 p.m.
