Tabor women’s basketball begins with 1 win, 1 loss

The Tabor College women?s basketball team opened the season with a 1-1 record at the Doane Classic last week.

The Bluejays lost to Dakota Wesleyan Friday, 74-59.

Tabor held a 36-31 lead at halftime but was outscored 43-23 in the second half.

Kayla Wilgers led Tabor in scoring with 15 points. Kaleigh Troxell added 11, and Mallory Zuercher 10.

Tabor followed with a 71-67 victory over Doane Saturday.

The Bluejays enjoyed a 31-23 advantage at halftime and withstood a second-half Doane rally to win the game.

Wilgers tallied 29 points in the contest to lead all scorers. No other Bluejay scored in double figures.

Coming?Tabor (1-1) was scheduled to host eighth-ranked College of Saint Mary Tuesday and will play at Oklahoma Baptist Friday at 5 p.m.
