Tabor volleyball earns two wins

After defeating Bethany earlier in the week, the Tabor College volleyball team defeated South?western Friday at home.

The Bluejays gained a three-set victory Friday. Tabor used 14 kills to win Set 1, 25-22. With 15 kills in Set 2, Tabor won, 25-17. The Bluejays? attacking percentage improved to .333 in Set 3, and with 14 kills, Tabor gained a 25-18 win.

Tena Loewen led the attack with 13 kills. Katelin Horstick added 12. Kelsea Brittain had 22 assists; Megan Voth added 21. Whitney Maple contributed 22 digs, and Madison Hoover had two solo blocks.

Bethany?Tabor earned a three-set victory Wednesday to close the first round of KCAC competition. The Bluejays used 15 kills and an attacking percentage of .209 to win Set 1, 25-20. Tabor overwhelmed the Swedes in Set 2, winning 25-14. The Bluejays polished the win with a 25-20 victory in Set 3.

Katelin Horstick and Tena Loewen led the attacking front with seven kills apiece. Megan Voth had 13 assists, and Kelsea Brittain 12. Loewen and Voth each had three service aces, and Whitney Maple added 17 digs. Madison Hoover managed the team?s only solo block.

Coming?Tabor (7-3, 10-12) will compete at Bethel (5-5, 11-13) tonight at 7 p.m. and travels to McPherson (2-8, 9-12) Friday for a 7 p.m. game.
