Tabor indoor track earns two firsts

The Tabor College indoor track and field team competed at the Nebraska Wesleyan quad Saturday. As a team, the men placed second among five schools with 63 points behind the host school at 255.

Two Bluejays finished first: Caleb Blue won the 400 (53.48), and Garrett Daugherty won the 600 (1:23.55). Two Bluejays placed second: Zac Krehbiel in the 200 (24.48) and Tyler Entz in the high jump (6-2).

Additional top-five achievements included: Blue, Oree Johnson, Avery Franz and Keith Francis placed third in the 4×400 (3:37.50); Bret Mueller was third in the 600 (1:26.42); Josh Richert was third in the 800 (2:01.41); Tyler Parrish was fourth in the 800 (2:01.87); Zac Krehbiel was fifth in the 55-meter dash (6.77); and Keith Francis finished fifth in the 600 (1:33.18).

The women?s team placed fourth among five schools with 39 points. Nebraska Wesleyan won with 229. Three Bluejays placed second:?Jessica Samuel in the 400 (1:04.04); Paula Young in the 1,000 (3:21.85); and Hannah Holmes in the 3,000 (10:50.61). Jessica Samuel, Sarah Hagen, Ashton Kroeker and Kelly Gomez placed third in the 4×400 (4:20.78); while Ashton Kroeker was third in the high jump (4-8). Sarah Hagen finished fifth in the triple jump (31-4).

Coming?Tabor will compete in the KCAC Indoor Championships at Kansas State Friday and Saturday.
