Tabor baseball wins two more

The Tabor College baseball team picked up a pair of wins over Central Christian Tuesday.

The Bluejays opened with an 8-0 shutout. Tabor established an early lead, scoring three runs on two hits and two errors in the first inning. The Bluejays added one run in each of the next five innings.

Colton Flax led the way, going 3-for-3 at-bat, including a double, with three RBIs. Matthew Molbury also doubled.

Manny DeLeon (1-0) earned the pitching win, giving up just one hit in four innings of work. He walked two batters and struck out four.

Tabor won Game 2, 7-6. Central Christian led, 5-2, through four innings. DeLeon hit an RBI double in the second inning, and Alex Couch drove in a run with a double in the third. The Bluejays added a pair of runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth to tie the game.

Central Christian reclaimed the lead with a run in the top of the eighth inning, but Tabor used three hits to score two runs in the bottom of the inning.

Flax was 2-for-2. Castillo had two RBIs.

Thomas Longworth (2-0) was the winning pitcher. Over 51?3 innings, he scattered four hits and two runs (both earned). Tabor?s four-game series with Mount Mercy scheduled for Saturday and Sunday was canceled.

Coming?Tabor (13-1)?will host Central Christian in a nine-inning game today at 2 p.m. The Bluejays will travel to York for a four-game series this weekend
