Young Goessel golf team looking to rebuild this season

Returning just three varsity members to the 2019 team means the Goessel Golf Team will be young.

Eight-year Head Coach Chad Lindeman said it will be very competitive to see the four to six spots that fill the varsity roster.

“I am excited to see what we can do this year as we will be lacking varsity experience, but looking toward some of our underclassmen to improve and possibly fill those roles,” Lindeman said. “I expect the team to work hard and get better every day.”

Junior Dylan Lindeman will lead the team as last year he was in the low 90s most of the year, breaking 90 once.

“Hopefully he can consistently improve on this scores and post some good ones this year,” Lindeman said.

Kendall Hiebert and Christopher Strecker should also improve on their scores from last year and be competitive in meets as Lindeman expects them to get more consistent.

“It should be exciting to see what we can accomplish this season,” Lindeman said.

The Bluebirds hit the links first when they traveled to Herington on April 2. They will then travel to Hillsboro on April 5.
