Senior Nathaniel Engler returns as a state qualifier and the Cougars? only letter-winner.
?He went to state last year, so we?re kind of expecting a return to state this year,? Wyatt said.
Sophomores Bryce Brun?ner and Wesley Love complete the team.
?They both were out last year as freshmen, so the expectation right now for them is still working on improvement in their game, getting better each time out,? Wyatt said. ?The goal is obviously to score better than last year.
?We?ve set some goals in mind as far as what they should look for and what shots to play when and things like that,? he added. ?That?s kind of what we?re focusing on rather than thinking that they have to come up with the big shot each and every time or make up a bad shot all at once.?
Wyatt said the team is focused on limiting the number of strokes it takes to reach the green, and keeping their play on the green to two putts or less.
Consistency will be important this year, he said.
The Cougars will host a regional meet at Marion this year, something Wyatt said will benefit the team.
Centre was scheduled to host a meet April 5 at Her?ing?ton to open the season. The Cougars will travel to Hillsboro April 8.
