Tabor track has strong team in 2019

With four qualifiers for the NAIA Outdoor Nationals Meet returning from last year, the Tabor Track team has a strong core to start 2019 with.

Led by Austin Cheatham, an All-American Shot Putter, Tabor also brings back Emily Kemling, marathon; Trajen Smith, javelin; and Robert Phillips, shot put, from last year’s national meet.

“A top three finish for the women out of 13 KCAC schools is attainable,” said Head Coach Dave Kroeker. “I think a top five finish for the men would be a high, achievable goal, team wise.”

Kroeker, entering his 19th season as head coach, said that health is always a concern for both the men and women’s teams.

Outside of the national qualifiers, Tabor plans on leaning on a large group of athletes that include: Sarah Bird, long jump and triple jump; Kaileigh Dill, discus and shot put; Marah Franz, pole vault; Madison Johnson, hammer; Julie Loewen, 3000M Steeplechase; Aaliyah Manuz, 400 M and 100 M hurdles; Parker Findley, 110 M hurdles; Caleb Gaede, high jump; and Owen Wegner, 400M hurdles.

Kroeker is joined by Joel Allen and David Ediger as coaches of the Blue Jays.
