The Eagle boys will be led by returning state qualifier Cody Savage. The senior placed seventh in the 100-meter dash at the Class 2A state meet last season with a time of 11.50 seconds.

?This year, (Cody) will run the 200, (compete in) high jump and throw the javelin,? Savage said.

Junior Trey Moddelmog is also expected to contribute this season.

?(Trey) won the high jump at several meets last season and just missed going to state,? Savage said. ?(He) will long jump (and) run the 400 and a relay.?

Senior Trevor Unruh will be a contender in the shot put, javelin and relays.

?Trevor should be in the 45-47s in the shot and could go to state,? Savage said.

The Eagle boys will compete without state qualifier Austin Bollinger this season.

?Austin had surgery for a bone growth and will not be able to compete,? Savage said. ?Austin went to state in the 400 meters last year.?

Ten athletes, meanwhile, complete the roster for the Eagle girls, whose strength this season will be throwing events.

Inexperience will be a key obstacle for the girls to overcome, Savage said.

?Anna Wesley will be our lone sprinter and should do well in the 200, 400 and long jump,? Savage said.

The Eagles will open the season Tuesday at the Buhler CKTL meet.
