Partridge top returner for PBHS

After retiring from coaching following the 2014 season, Kim Topham has returned to lead the team this year. Topham coached for 14 years at the junior high and high school levels and is beginning her third year as head coach at Peabody-Burns.

The Warriors will compete without graduated seniors Nick Preheim, Rylie McDowell and Makenzie Young. Eight athletes grace this year?s roster.

Senior Cody Partridge will lead the boys as the Warriors? only returning state qualifier. Partridge qualified in the long jump, having claimed first place at the Wheat State League meet. He turned in a season-best leap of 19 feet, 101?2 inches. Partridge finished second at league in the high jump and third in the 4×100.

Junior Austin Reynolds also returns, having finished third at league in the 110 hurdles and fourth in the 300 hurdles.

Junior Andrew Wedel returns in the throws after missing his sophomore season as a result of injury.

Two newcomers have joined the team: senior Zeke Castleman (sprints) and freshman Ronald Perrymore (throws).

Meanwhile, senior Cheyenne Shaw (200, relays) and junior Paige Murray (middle distance) will lead the girls? team. Senior foreign exchange student Elena Miccone is also expected to contribute.

Peabody-Burns was scheduled to open the season April 5 at Sterling. The Warriors will travel to Marion April 8.
