Hillsboro tennis team will be young

“We are still trying to determine who will play singles and who will play doubles and with whom,” Third Year Head Coach Bob Woelk said. “We will likely mix things up throughout the season. My hope is that we can be competitive as the season moves along.”

Hillsboro lost three seniors off last years’ squad, but hope that returning letter-winners: Noah Bartel, Aidan Unruh, Ethan Plenert, and Henry Hein will help bring the team along.

“Several played in tournaments last summer and took lessons,” Woelk said. “I can see their improvement. The weather has been brutal this spring, so we have had minimal practice opportunities. We will know more in a few weeks about where we stand.”

The Trojans played at Smoky Valley on April 2. They play next at 3 p.m.on April 4 at home.
