Young Canton-Galva team looking to improve

After a 3-18 season last year, the Canton-Galva boys basketball team is ready to improve on that record, after learning on the go last year.

“Although we will not have a senior on the roster, it will be nice to have some experience returning,” head coach Shane Duncan said. “Last year, these boys were thrown to the wolves, but I believe it will pay dividends the next few years.”

Duncan, who is entering his seventh year as coach, said that his team should have good depth at all positions and thought because of that they might pressure the ball a little more than in past seasons.

“This group is extremely competitive, and I expect very intense practices with this group of young men,” he said.

Canton-Galva has 21 players on the roster, led by returning starters Nick Pearson, Landon Everett, Kinser Colgin, and Brayden Collins. Other returning players who will make an impact will likely be Conner Koehn, Brandon Huff, and Brayden Minson.
