A number of new faces will be on the court for the Peabody-Burns boys? basketball team this season.

With the loss of eight seniors to graduation, no starters return from last year?s 9-12 season during which the Warriors went 4-3 in the Wheat State League.

Second-year coach Caleb Good will rely on a number of athletes to step up and fill increased roles this year.

Fourteen athletes grace the Warrior roster this season. Key impact returners include senior guard Cody Partridge (6-1), and junior forwards Austin Reynolds (6-3) and Jayton Scott (6-3).

Newcomer Clayton Phil?pott (5-10), a senior guard, forward, also may be called upon to contribute.

?We will look to hard work, discipline and a close-knit group of guys as a means to step in and go to work,? Good said. ?We feel optimistic that we can battle and show much improvement as we prepare for the 2015-16 season.?

Peabody will tip off its season at home Friday when the Warriors host Chase County.
