Tabor Women’s Soccer should be strong again

The Tabor College Women’s Soccer team is ready to do some big things after a great last season and spring.

The team made the conference playoffs , but lost in the quarterfinals last fall. They are hoping for more this year.

Head Coach Ian Thompson, back for year six, is ready to see how well his team can do.

“We are returning 19 players and had a good spring. I feel we are very athletic and have a chance to really make an impact on the conference. Last year we played great defense but lacked an attacking punch and I feel we have that now with our younger players having a great spring and bringing back first team forward Dakota Spencer,” said Thompson.

Other key players are Hannah Armand, Araceli Wallace, Alexis Olivares, Karla Monroy, Rachel Bennett, Allison Cubbon and Macy Darrah.

The team does still face challenges, but their coach is confident they can figure it out.

“Maintaining the defensive style of play and not losing our identity to score more goals (will be a challenge),” said Thompson, “we will have to find a balance between the two.”

Coming—The bluejays already started their season. They will play next on Sept 6 at Southwestern Christian University.
