Tabor Tennis hoping to have winning seasons

First year Tabor College tennis head coach Luke Rencher is ready to have a winning season for both the men’s and women’s teams. He plans to do this by preparing adequately.

“We play in a strong conference. Preparing adequately so we will be ready for the conference play will be our biggest challenge,” said Rencher. “We are in the fall portion of our season and we are playing three tournaments and a few dual matches. We will use this to prepare us for conference play which is in the Spring which is what is really important.”

The team has played well academically in past seasons.

“For two years in a row, the Tabor College Women’s Tennis team finished a close second in the nation academically, posting a team collective grade point average (GPA) of 3.89 on a 4.0 scale,” said Rencher.

The coach is hoping the team will also play well in standings and it seems possible with several returners including Olivia Brubacher and Tessa Issac for the women and Pierce Klaassen, Jean Paul Fort and Billy Wiser for the men.
