Peabody Volleyball working hard to build on last year’s successes

Rachel Winter returns for a second year of coaching the Peabody-Burns High School volleyball team ready to build on what they started last season.

“We look to continue the improvement we started last year and to continue the momentum we had at the end of the season winning four of our last five games. The girls worked hard in the weight room and gym this summer and are excited to start the season strong,” said Winter.

However, they do face one big obstacle that they did not have last year.

“Losing four starters will be big to overcome and girls are vying to fill those spots and find a rhythm together,” said Winter.

In spite of that, the team still has a solid base of seniors and returning letter winners to help lead them including Mya Winter, Aubrey Craig, Lexi Schreiber and Adriana Newman.

Another key player will be junior Kaete Johnson.

Coming — Peabody will open their season up on Sept 7 at home.
