Peabody football has tough road ahead

Entering his first year as head coach, Kody Tegtmeier said that while he has a good crop of kids returning for his squad, Peabody has a very tough schedule this season, so their goal is going to come out and compete in every game.

“We just want to take it one game at a time and improve each week,” he said.

Returning this season for Peabody is senior Tyler Entz (OL) and juniors Jess Philpot (RB), Rocco Weerts (RB), Tanner Wedd (OL), Tristan Wedd (OL), and Andrew Hauck (LB).

“A benefit for us this season will be the experience our kids received in 2017,” Tegtmeier said. “We have several kids returning that saw time last year, however, it will be tough for me being a new coach learning them and the boys getting used to my system.”

Peabody opens the season on the road against Centre on Friday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m. Their home opener is against an always tough Little River squad on Friday, Sept. 7, also at 7 p.m.
