Marion Volleyball back in action

The Marion High School Volleyball team placed 3rd in the league last year with an overall record of 17-19.

They go into the season hoping to do well with a solid team of returning letter winners and a few seniors.

Kris Burkholder is returning for a second year of coaching.

“We have high expectations for this season! The Warriors should be able to compete with every team in our league. We believe that we can have a winning record. If we play like we are capable of playing then we will be tough to beat during our regular season matches and tournaments,” said Burkholder.

The team does face some challenges which is to we expected.

“Right now our biggest challenge is our serve receive. We need to get more consistent on our passes to our setter and we need to find the right combination of players in the back row for our team to be more effective,” said Burkholder.

But the team is confident they can do that. They have high goals that they plan to accomplish.

These goals include bringing home three regular season tournament championships, winning league and winning sub-state.

Coming— The Lady Warriors start their season Thursday at Hutch Central Christian.
