Coming off an 18-20 season (4-7 in the Heart of America league) Crysta Guhr?s Goessel High School volleyball team will have seven returning letter-winners.

The group includes seniors Rinda Duerksen, Amy Brubaker, juniors Aspen Frey, Jessica Goertzen, Karina Harvey and Karis Janzen and sophomore Kendra Flaming.

Guhr will look for Harvey to hold down the libero duties and for Goertzen to take care of the setting, freeing the others to be hitters.

?The Lady Bluebirds have a strong core returning this year,? Guhr said. ?They will be looking to further the successes of last year.?

Among the obstacles they will face will be Moundridge, Inman and Trinity in the league, and Central Christian, Olpe and Halstead outside of it.

?With many letter-winners returning, the season looks promising,? Guhr said.

Guhr begins her fourth year at the helm with a quadrangular featuring Ell-Saline, Hope and Elyria at 4 p.m. Sept 2.
