Centre Golf hoping to hit personal goals

The Centre golf team will compete for individual accolades this season under the direction of second-year coach Max Venable.

“The biggest challenge this year will be not having an opportunity to place as a team,” Venable said. “Team scoring requires four golfers.”

Two returning juniors will provide leadership for the Cougar roster: Samantha Engler and Cecilia Rziha. Joining them is freshman Jorja Peterson.

“I am excited to work with our players this year,” Venable said. “The team has created a goal to have everyone participate in regionals. They are also planning on setting new personal bests this year. I am looking forward to helping them accomplish their goals.”

Coming—The Cougars opened their season Tuesday at Emporia. Centre will travel to West Franklin Sept. 10.
