The Tabor College soccer teams return to the field this season under the direction of seventh-year head coach Grant Brubacher.
Men?s team
The Bluejay men recorded a 13-7 record last season, 7-2 in the KCAC for second place.
The Bluejays boast 15 returning players this season. Junior midfielder Marian Saar, a first-team All-KCAC selection last year and 2013 preseason pick, should again be a force this season. Saar topped the conference in goals, assists and points in 2012.
Also returning is junior forward Philipp Wahl, another first-team All-KCAC selection and preseason team pick.
Senior defender Adam Morley was named to the All-KCAC second team last season and was chosen to the preseason team this year.
Senior midfielder Aram Najar returns after earning honorable mention All-KCAC honors last season.
The Bluejays, who lost their first game of the season to No. 4 MidAmerica Nazarene Univer?sity 1-0, placed third in the KCAC preseason coaches? poll behind Kansas Wesleyan and McPher?son.
Women?s team
The Bluejay women return 19 players this season after finishing 9-9 overall last year and 4-5 in the KCAC for seventh place.
Topping the list is junior forward Jessica Renzelman, a first-team All-KCAC selection last year and 2013 preseason team pick.
Sophomore forward Nicole Stevenson returns after being chosen to the All-KCAC second team last year, while two honorable mention honorees?senior defender Molly Clark and junior midfielder Anna Friesen?also return.
The Bluejays, who fell 4-0 to MidAmerica Nazarene Aug. 27, tied the University of Saint Mary for sixth place in the KCAC preseason coaches? poll. Kansas Wesleyan topped the poll, followed by Ottawa and Sterling.
Immediate schedule
Both teams were scheduled to compete at Mid America Chris?tian in Oklahoma City this past Friday.
The men will compete at Manhattan Christian College at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4, and both teams will travel to Saint Gregory?s University Sept. 7.
