BASEBALL

Canton-Galva—The Eagles suffered a pair of run-rule losses at Ell-Saline Thursday.

Canton-Galva lost Game 1, 23-8 in three innings.

Ell-Saline led, 1-0, after the first inning, then scored 10 in the second and 12 in the third. Canton-Galva scored seven in the top of the third.

Zach Snow and Travis Unruh were both 2-for-2 at-bat. Each drove in one run.

Jordan Gagnebin sustained the pitching loss.

Canton-Galva lost Game 2, 15-5, in six innings.

The Eagles scored four runs in the opening inning, but did not add to it until the fifth inning. By that time, Ell-Saline held an 11-4 lead.

Devin Elkins was 3-for-4 at-bat. Travis Unruh sustained the pitching loss.

The Eagles’ games at Marion Friday were cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

The Eagles were scheduled to host Bennington Tuesday and Lincoln Thursday.TRACK AND FIELD

Canton-Galva—The Eagles’ meet at Moundridge Tuesday was cancelled and will not be rescheduled. The James Thomas Invitational at Hillsboro was rescheduled for May 2.

The Eagles were scheduled to travel to Moundridge Tuesday and will participate in the Heart of America league meet at Marion May 13.

Centre—The Cougars’ only meet last week, the Burrton CKTL at Fairfield scheduled for Tuesday, was cancelled because of weather and will not be rescheduled.

The Cougars will participate in the Steve Hermann Invitational Thursday at Herington.

Goessel—The Bluebirds’ meet at Halstead Tuesday was cancelled.

Goessel was scheduled to compete at Tescott Tuesday. The Bluebirds will host the Wheat State League meet May 12.

Peabody-Burns—Both of the Warriors’ meets were postponed because of weather last week. The Warriors’ home track meet Tuesday was cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

The James Thomas Invitational at Hillsboro was rescheduled for May 2.

The Warriors will travel to Herington Thursday and will compete in the Wheat State League meet at Goessel May 12.
