GIRLS

• Goessel won its Blue­bird Classic last week with a 49-31 win over Elyria Chris­tian in the championship game.

Eden Hiebert scored 23 points and Brittney Hiebert 10 to lead the Bluebirds, who are now 3-1 for the season.

The Bluebirds defeated Canton-Galva in their tournament opener on Tuesday, 51-31. Eden Hiebert led Goes­sel with 23 and Britt­ney Hie­bert add 17. J. Mastre scored 11 and Taylor Everett 10 for Canton-Galva.

Goessel defeated Burrton, 65-18, on Friday. Eden Hie­bert scored 17 points, Brit­tney Hiebert 13 and Marina Bidegain 12 to pace the Bluebirds.

This week, Goessel (3-1) was scheduled to host Wake­field on Tuesday.

• Canton-Galva finished fourth at the Bluebird Classic in Goessel last week.

In their opener on Mon­day, the Eagles defeated Burrton, 58-27. Tia Moddel­mog scored 23 points and B. Gough 16 for Canton-Galva. R. Salaga led Burrton with 10 points.

Canton-Galva dropped a 51-31 decision to the host school on Tuesday. J. Mastre scored 11 points and Taylor Everett 10 to lead the Eagles. Eden Hiebert led Goessel with 23 points and Brittney Hiebert added 17.

The Eagles faced off with Central Christian on Satur­day in the third-place game, but finished on the short end of a 43-37 final score.

Bell and Moddelmog led the Eagles with 10 points each. Central Christian was led by Simms with 16 points and Ibara with 14.

This week, Canton-Galva was to host Inman on Tues­day and will travel to Centre on Friday.

• Centre defeated Wichita Classical 39-29 in the opening round of the Her­ing­ton Invitational Dec. 5.

On Thursday, Centre knocked of Lebo, 40-36, then completed their tournament experience with a 56-26 loss to Rural Vista.

This week, the Cougars (3-1) will host Canton-Galva on Friday.

• Peabody-Burns struggled at the Marion Classic last week, finishing 0-3 for the week. The Warriors lost their opening game on Monday, 69-10. Tori Pickens led the team with six points. Madison Dehlinger led Eureka with 16.

Thursday was a match between two Warrior teams, PBHS and Berean Academy. Berean claimed a 73-15 victory. Pickens scored five points and Precious Kerr four points for PBHS. Ashtyn Wiebe led Berean with 12.

In the finale on Saturday, Peabody-Burns lost to Wichita Home School, 46-20. Pickens scored 10 to lead PBHS, who is 0-4 for the season. Sarah Schwemmer scored 11 for WHS.

This week’s schedule has Peabody-Burns playing at Burrton on Tuesday and at Little River on Friday.

BOYS

• Goessel struggled at their Bluebird Classic, coming up short in all three games last week.

On Tuesday, Goessel lost a heartbreaker to Canton-Galva, 50-48. Dylan Linde­man led Goessel with 19 points and Jordan Griffin added 15. Nick Pearson of Canton-Galva led all scorers with 26 points.

Goessel lost to Burrton on Friday, 35-26. Lindeman and Griffin each scored 12 points. C. Zehr led Burrton with 14 points.

In the fifth-place game on Saturday, the Bluebirds lost to Central Christian, 70-43. Griffin scored 14 and Linde­man 12 for Goessel. N. Heneha scored 23 for Central Chris­tian.

This week, the Bluebirds will take an 0-4 record to Wakefield on Friday.

• Canton-Galva claimed fourth place in the six-team Bluebird Classic in Goessel last week, losing the third place game on Satur­day to Little River, 56-30.

Landon Everett scored 13 points to lead the Eagles while Jay Garrison scored 27 for Central Christian. Moffett added 13 points.

In Monday’s first-round game, Burrton defeated the Eagles, 46-33. Nick Pearson 22 points for the Eagles while B. Mea­chem led Burrton with 12 points.

The Eagles posted a second-round close win over Goessel on Tuesday, 50-48. Pearson led all scorers with 26 points. Dylan Lindeman led Goessel with 19 and Jordan Griffin added 15.

This week, Goessel (3-1) was scheduled to host Wakefield on Tuesday.

• Centre went 2-1 at the Herington Invitational last week.

On Tuesday, the Cougars lost to Central Christian, 66-63, but bounced back to defeated Lebo on Friday, 45-43. The Cougars ended the tournament on a positive note by knocking off Rural Vista, 42-29. Cole Srajer and Zach Barney led Centre with nine points each.

This week, the Cougars will bring a 2-2 record to the court when they host Canton-Galva on Friday.

• Peabody-Burns had a tough time at the Marion Classic last week, finishing with an 0-3 record.

The Warriors lost to Eureka on Monday, 77-50. Chance Elliott scored 19 points and Rocco Werts 12 to lead the team. Kash Parmes scored 16 points for the Tornadoes.

On Thursday, Peabody-Burn lost to Berean Academy, 65-25. Weerts scored nine points to lead PBHS, while Toby Penner led Berean with 12 points.

The Warriors were overwhelmed on Saturday by Wichita Home School, who came away with a 93-22 victory. Weerts led Peabody-Burns with eight points while Grant Mellinger scored 22 to lead WHS.

This week’s schedule has Peabody-Burns playing at Burrton on Tuesday and at Little River on Friday.
