More KCAC preseason fall polls released

The KCAC has released the 2015 preseason coaches? polls for cross country, soccer and volleyball.

Cross country?The Bluejay men were picked to finish 10th of 12 teams. The University of Saint Mary was selected to finish first.

The Spires won the KCAC championship a year ago, participated in the NAIA cross country championship and ranked 14th in the 2014 NAIA postseason poll.

Last year, Tabor finished seventh of 10 schools at the KCAC Championship.

The Bluejay women were picked to finish fifth in the conference. Saint Mary was selected first.

Soccer?Both Tabor soccer teams were selected to finish fifth by conference coaches.

The men garnered 60 points. Newcomer Oklahoma Wesleyan was picked to finish first with 100 points. The Eagles received 10 first-place votes. McPherson received the final first-place vote and tallied 85 total points.

Last season, Oklahoma Wesleyan went 14-5-2 overall, including 4-1 in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Eagles lost in the first round of the NAIA championship tournament.

McPherson won the conference last year with an 8-0-1 record and ranked 22nd in the NAIA postseason Top 25 poll.

Tabor went 6-13 last season, 5-4 in the KCAC to finish fifth.

The Bluejay women?s team, meanwhile, also garnered 60 points. Ottawa was selected first for the second consecutive year with 97 points and eight first-place votes. Kansas Wesleyan (92) received two first-place votes and Oklahoma Wesleyan (79) received the last first-place vote.

The Braves won the KCAC tournament last season, finishing second in the KCAC at 7-0-2. The Braves fell in the first round of the NAIA Opening Round.

Kansas Wesleyan won the regular season at 8-0-1.

Tabor went 11-5-3, 5-3-1 in the KCAC to finish fifth.

Volleyball?The Bluejays were selected fifth with 67 points.

Kansas Wesleyan was picked first with 97 points and eight first-place votes. Ottawa (88) received two first-place votes, and Oklahoma Wesleyan (81) received the final first-place vote.

The Coyotes won the regular season and KCAC tournament, posting a 29-10 overall record, 17-1 in conference play. Kansas Wesleyan lost in the opening round of the national tournament.

Last season, Tabor went 12-19 overall, 9-9 in the KCAC to finish sixth.
