The Marion track and field team had a lighter week of competition last week. The Warriors? only outing was the Marion CKTL hosted at Hillsboro Tuesday.
Marion brought a small squad to the meet.
?These were some athletes who did not get to participate last Friday and were working on skills to get better,? coach Grant Thierolf said. ?We had a good day and many PRs.?
The girls placed fifth with five points behind Hesston (160), Hillsboro (129), Halstead (127) and Centre (70).
Alli Hett turned in Marion?s highest finish, placing fourth in the discus (82-4).
The boys placed fifth with two points behind Hillsboro (172), Halstead (152), Hesston (129) and Centre (47).
Devin Hamm was the boys? highest placer, finishing fifth in the triple jump (25-111?2)).
Coming?The Smoky Valley Invitational originally scheduled for last Friday was postponed because of weather. It was rescheduled for Tuesday, but Thierolf said the Warriors no longer plan to attend. The Warriors were scheduled to compete at the Hesston CKTL meet Tuesday and will travel to Halstead Friday for an invitational meet where events are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
