Hillsboro High School senior Grant Knoll signed a letter of intent Nov. 19 to run cross country and track and field at Emporia State University next year. Knoll didn?t compete in cross country at HHS, but in track and field placed 11th in the Class 2A 3,200 meters and seventh in the 1,600 as a junior this spring. ?Cross country will be a new endeavor for him, but I am confident that his ability and dedication as a distance runner will translate into success as a cross-county competitor,? said Dennis Boldt, HHS track and field coach. ?He has not yet reached his potential and our coaching staff looks forward to an outstanding senior season.?
