Jays receive NAIA tournament seeds

Seedings for the NAIA Division II women?s and men?s basketball national championship tournaments have been released.

Both Tabor College teams punched a ticket to their respective tournaments by winning KCAC regular season titles.

Women?The Tabor women join the 32-team field in Sioux City, Iowa, as one of four No. 7 seeds in the tournament, which will take place at the Tyson Events Center March 11-17.

The Bluejays (19-12) will face No. 2 Marian (Ind., 28-5) in the first round Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

With a win, Tabor will face the winner of No. 3 Southern Oregon (26-4) and No. 6 Robert Morris (21-6) Friday at 8:30 a.m.

The quarterfinals will be played March 14, semifinals March 16 and finals March 17.

Men?The Tabor men join the 32-team national championship field in Point Lookout, Mo., which will be played at Keeter Gymnasium March 11-17.

The Bluejays (19-12) will face Morningside (27-4) in the first round Thursday at noon.

With a win, Tabor will face the winner of Saint Francis (Ind., 25-7) and St. Francis (Ill., 23-9) Friday at noon.

The quarterfinals will be played March 14, semifinals March 16 and finals March 17.
