Jays fall to ranked opponents

The Tabor College women?s basketball team lost Friday, 80-61, to NAIA Division I eighth-ranked Oklahoma Baptist.

The Bluejays trailed 36-25 at halftime, and Oklahoma Baptist built to its largest lead by the end.

Tabor scored its last field goal with 4:31 left in the game.

Tabor shot 36.8 percent from the field, while the Bison shot 48.3 percent. Mallory Zuercher led Tabor with 16 points. Tonisha Dean added 13.

College of Saint Mary?Tabor lost a close battle to the No. 8 Flames, 63-60, Tuesday.

Trailing 33-24 at halftime, Tabor?s shooting improved after the break. The Bluejays outscored the Flames 36-30 in the second half.

Tonisha Dean led Tabor with 16 points. Kaleigh Troxell added 14, Mallory Zuercher 11 and Kayla Wilgers 10.

Tabor was receiving votes in the NAIA Division II Preseason Top 25 poll.

Coming?Tabor (1-3) will travel to Central Methodist Saturday for a 4 p.m. game.
