Competing in three separate meets, Marion track athletes medaled in multiple individual events.
One of four athletes to compete in the KU Relays in Lawrence Thursday through Saturday, Julia Zeiner finished fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 37-53?4. The winning jump was 39-3.
Nick Klenda, Sheldon Boone and Tylor Neil also competed in Lawrence, but did not place.
The remaining Warriors traveled to Lindsborg Friday for the Smoky Valley Invitational.
The boys placed third as a team with 70 points. Scott City (11.5) won the meet followed by Southeast of Saline (80), Marion, Ellsworth (67), Sacred Heart (66), Concordia (53.5),?Hutchinson Trinity (52), Smoky Valley (39), Abilene (33)?and Chapman (17).
Three Warriors won gold. Parker Ash took first in the shot put (46-7), Colten Johnson won the pole vault (12-0), Jordan Hett placed first in the 1,600 in 4 minutes, 58.2 seconds. He also was second in the 3,200.
The Warrior girls medaled in six events but finished eighth as a team with 24 points.
Concordia (179) took first, trailed by Smoky Valley (88), Southeast of Saline (85), Abilene (55), Scott City (33), Ellsworth (32), Chapman (30), Marion, Sacred Heart (14) and Hutchinson Trinity (12).
The only gold for Marion came from Whitney Gordon in the high jump. Gordon cleared 5 feet.
Tuesday, the Warriors competed in a Central Kansas Track League quint at Moundridge.The Marion boys placed fourth with 46 points. The host team Moundridge won (115), followed by Haven (97), Fairfield (53), Marion and Little River (30).
The Marion girls finished fifth with 18 team points. Little River won (92), followed by Haven (91), Fairfield (67), Moundridge (50) and Marion.
The Warriors are scheduled to travel to Wichita Indepen?dent Tuesday and the Conrad Nightingale Invitational at Halstead Friday.
