Kendall Wiebe led the Peabody-Burns High School cross country boys to the line at Chapman Thursday. Wiebe placed eighth in the upperclassmen race with a time of 18:25.
?Chapman?s is our first real race on hills,? coach Kim Topham said. ?Our runners handled the course well.?
Sophomore Sheldon Wiebe placed sixth in the underclassmen race with a time of 19:29.
?Sheldon Wiebe showed significant improvement over last year by running 1 minute and 42 seconds faster this year,? Topham said.
Seth Methvin (17th, 19:57) ran the upperclassmen race 1:20 faster than last year. Kendall Wiebe and Aaron Topham (11th, 18:33) also improved their times.
Josh Klarmann (17th, 19:07) and Chris Schafer (33rd, 22:39) also ran the upperclassmen race.
On the girls side, Lauren Pickens (18:18) had a ?hard time getting into the race but still finished in 13th position.?
Marion also ran at Chapman, but results were not submitted in time to meet the print edition deadline. The results will be posted to www.hillsborofreepress.com when received.
