Seven Marion wrestlers placed among the top six finishers in their respective weight classes at the Eureka Invita?tional Saturday.
The effort boosted the Warriors to a fifth-place team finish with 96 points. El Dorado came in first with 173.
Evan Slater led the way for Marion with a first-place finish in the 220-pound weight class.
Two Warriors placed second: Beretta Janzen (113 pounds) and Brody Carroll (152 pounds).
Adam Janzen came in third at 182 pounds, while Eric Regnier took fourth at 126 pounds.
Recording sixth-place finishes were Derrick Dvorak (160 pounds) and Zac Lewman (170 pounds).
At the junior varsity tournament in Stafford, two Warriors earned first-place finishes: Zac Dvorak went 5-0 in the 152-pound weight class, while Adam Kjellin went 3-1 at 285 pounds. Dylan Cochran was third at 195 with a 2-2 record and Remington Putter went 2-3 at 120.
Coming??Marion will compete at the Hoisington Invitational Friday, where action is set to begin at 3 p.m. The junior varsity will host a tournament Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
