Warrior wrestlers sixth at Classic

Four top-five finishers led the Marion wrestling team Friday at the Hoisington Cardinal Classic.

Two Warriors won their respective weight classes: Luke Steele (160 pounds) and Kyle Palic (220). Jarrett Johnson placed second (106) and Remington Putter came in fourth (145).

Marion scored 73 points to place sixth among eight teams. Hoisington won with 180.

The junior-varsity team competed at home Saturday. Four Warriors took either first or second place.

Three Warriors earned top honors in their respective weight classes:?AJ Cogdill (106), Remington Putter (145) and Zac Dvorak (160). Ryan Cochran placed second (152).

Coming?Marion will host a double dual Thursday. Matches begin at 5:30 p.m. The Warriors will participate Friday in a tournament at Onaga. Matches begin at 3 p.m.
