The Marion wrestling team placed second at the two-day Halstead Invitational by scoring 159 points.
?We wrestled very well,? coach Chad Adkins said. ?We beat some very good teams this weekend and were missing two kids that would have placed and scored more team points for us.
?I am very proud of our boys, and they represented Marion very well.?
Adam Janzen led the Warriors by placing second in the 170-pound weight class. Two Warriors earned third-place finishes:?Reming?ton Putter (145) and Luke Steele (160).
Five Marion wrestlers came in fourth in their respective weight classes:?Jarrett Johnson (106), Noah Albin (113), Ezra Darnall (126), John Nordquist (195) and Nick Meyer (285).
Bryce Shults placed fifth at 120.
?We continue to get better every week, and that is because these kids work very hard,? Adkins said. ?I am looking forward to see where the rest of the season takes us.?
