Warrior softball 1-1 at Herington

The Warriors managed only two hits in Game 1 and lost, 6-0.

Sam Davies and Kayla Kroupa each hit singles.

Megan Richmond absorbed the pitching loss. Over six innings, she struck out five batters.

Marion followed with a 10-9 victory in Game 2.

Marion used a four-run second inning to take an early lead, aided by base hits by Emily Davies, Shayla Kline and Kayla Kroupa.

But Herington worked to tie the game at 9-9 after six innings.

Marion answered with the winning run in the top of the seventh when Megan Richmond singled and later scored.

The Warriors held Herington scoreless in the bottom half of the inning to claim the narrow victory.

Sam Davies led Marion with three hits. Bailey Robson and Richmond each had two RBIs.

Over five innings of work, Shelby Felvus threw two strikeouts.

Coming?Marion was scheduled to host Hutchinson Trinity Tuesday and will play at Moundridge Friday.
