Warrior girls fall to eventual champ TMP in semifinals

Thursday night against Thomas More Prep, the Marion High School girls basketball team was done in by a second quarter in which TMP outscored the Warriors 3:1.

Apart from the Monarchs 24-8 run in the second frame, Marion held its ground against the top-seeded team in the Trojan Classic.

More or less.

The Warriors scored 46 points to TMP?s 50, but Marion could not appreciably slow either Kaylee Hoffman (26 points) or Rachel Jacobs (22). Jacobs made 11 of 16 2-point attempts, good for 69 percent.
