?The Cougars first quadrangular (Sept. 2) resulted in an 0-3 record against Inman (11-25, 4-25), Canton-Galva (20-25, 25-27) and Wichita Home School (17-25, 7-25).

Leann Pankratz totaled five kills?four against Canton-Galva??and Allison Shields had four.

Centre?s next contests will be its own 8-team invitational tournament set to feature Marion, Little River, Berean Academy, Herington, White City, Tescott and Hope Saturday morning.

Goessel

?The Bluebirds opened the season 3-0 with wins over Ell Saline (25-16, 25-12), Hope (25-9, 25-7) and Elyria Christian (25-8, 25-12).

Kendra Flaming and Karina Harvey led in serving percentage for the night at 95 percent. Jessica Goertzen was close behind at 94 percent, while scoring eight aces.

Karina Harvey led in digs with 12, while Kendra Flaming had 10.

?It's always nice to start the season with some wins and we were able to do that tonight,? coach Crysta Guhr said.

Goessel opened league play against Canton-Galva, Bennington, and Hutch Trinity Tuesday, and hosts its own invitational tournament Saturday morning.
