Goessel

?The Bluebirds crushed all their opposition at the Tescott Invitational Tournament on Saturday, posting a 5-0 record and winning each match in two games. This is the second straight year Goessel has won the tournament.

Goessel defeated Tescott (25-8, 25-9), Bennington (25-11, 25-14), Ell-Saline (25-17, 25-23), Osborne (25-16, 25-8) and defeated Ell-Saline (25-22, 25-9) in the championship match.

Goessel (13-5) was lead by Kendra Flaming in serving percentage and by Jessica Goertzen led in aces with 12 for the day. Goertzen led GHS in assists, with 72 for the day.

Karis Janzen recorded 37 for the day, while Aspen Frey had 25 and Kendra Flaming had 21. Janzen also had 13 blocks.

Goessel plays Tuesday night at Ell-Saline with Moundridge.

Centre

?The Cougars split a Sept. 15 triangular at St. Xavier with Elyria, hammering the hosts (25-9, 25-11) and stumbling against Elyria (25-19, 21-25, 18-25). The Cougars picked up their third win behind 3 kills apiece from Carlye Simons and Allison Shields, and were set with their seventh loss despite 6 kills from Simons and 5 kills and a block from Shields.

Centre competed at Marion on Saturday, going 0-3 against Wichita Collegiate, Sedgwick and DeSoto.
