Hillsboro High School senior Tyrell Thiessen signed a letter of intent Feb. 12 to play football at Tabor College this fall. Thiessen was a first team all-league selection at running back and received honorable mention at linebacker for the 10-1 Trojans. On offense, Thiessen ran for 773 yards and 10 touchdowns on 162 carries, an average of 7.58 yards per carry. He also caught 43 passes for 561 yards and six scores. On defense he was credited with 76 total tackles, four fumble recoveries and three caused fumbles. Sitting with Thiessen are his parents, Dorie and Linden Thiessen.
