Trojans lose regional opener

Hillsboro?s baseball season ended with a 4-1 loss to Sacred Heart in the first round of the Class 3A regional tournament Monday evening in Salina.

The sixth-seeded Trojans struggled to score against No. 3-seeded Sacred Heart, finally managing a run in the seventh inning on a single by Kale Arnold that drove home Nathan Unruh, who had led off with a single.

Sacred Heart scored all four of its runs in the fourth inning off Arnold (4-2), the Trojan?s ace. Hillsboro ends its season with an 8-13 mark. Sacred Heart (15-6) will move on to the tournament semifinals on Wednesday.
