Sophomore Bret Mueller heads for the finish line in the opening cross-country race for Hillsboro High School. Mueller earned a medal with a 10th-place finish while teammate Nathan Vogel placed sixth to lead the team to a third-place finish in the junior-varsity race of the J.K. Gold Classic near Augusta. Detailed results were not available at press time. This Saturday, the Trojans head for a race at Wamego, site of the state championships in late October.
