The Hillsboro Softball team had some tough competition and went 2-2 in their games last week against Halstead, 16-4 and 17-7 wins, and against Remington, 10-8 and 12-11 loses.

Against Halstead, the Trojans were led by Dani Klein who had a single, a double, a stolen base, and five RBIs in the first game. Cheyenne Bernhardt had three RBI and two stolen bases. Together they batted in half of Hillsboro’s 16 runs in the game.

In the second game against Halstead, the team was balanced offensively with several girls getting to base.

Bernhardt led the way with seven RBIs including a homerun. She also was the starting pitcher in the circle, earning the run-rule win.

A trip to Remington had the offense stall slightly, and a good Remington team got the sweep. In the first game, Klein had three doubles on her way to three RBIs.

In the second game, Kylee Martin had two singles, two runs, and three RBI to go along with three stolen bases.

Coming – The Trojans played Larned on Tuesday and then will play Hoisington at home at 4 p.m. on Friday.
