With three players among the top 25 medalists, Hillsboro placed fifth in the 10-team field competing at the Central Kansas League golf tournament May 10 at Pratt.
Carson Herbel was the top Trojan with a score of 92, placing him 15th overall. Elliot Ollenburger shot a 95 for 20th place and Elias Werth was 24th with a 97. Colin Settle completed the team score with a 99.
The combination gave Hillsboro a score of 383, which placed the Trojans behind Hesston (344), Sterling (347), Larned (365) and Hoisington (369), and ahead of Halstead (398), Nickerson (408), Lyons (409) and Kingman (427).
Colton Massey of Larned was the top medalist with a score 74, two strokes ahead of Trey Denno of Hesston.
Coming—The Trojan golf team was schedule to play Monday at the Class 2A regional tournament at the Belleville Country Club.
Joining Hillsboro in the field are host Republic County, Valley Heights, Ell-Saline, Herington, Hillsboro, Horton, Inman, Little River, Salina Sacred Heart, Wabaunsee and Washington County.
